Come Volunteer at the HOPE Center and make a difference in your community!
Each week more than 140 volunteers rotate shifts and assist staff They are members of churches, Scout groups, University clubs, social clubs and service clubs, highs school students, college students, housewives, and retirees. Our youngest (honorary) volunteer is 15 months old and our oldest is 96!
Who can volunteer?
Individuals, church or civic groups, clubs,
businesses, and school groups.
When can I volunteer?
Volunteer opportunities are available Monday-Thursday 8:30am-4pm
and on Fridays 8:30am-12 noon.
Can children volunteer?
Children 10 years of age and older can volunteer.
Children under 15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
What areas of work are available?
*Food Pantry Volunteer
Receive food donations, stock food pantry shelves, and assist families with
emergency food needs.
*Clothing Room Volunteer
Receive incoming donations of clothing as well as various household items,
sort and size donated clothing, and assist clients in the selection of clothing, bedding, and small household goods.
*Reception Volunteer
The reception volunteer will greet clients, answer and direct phone calls,
answer general information questions, and will screen clients for basic service eligibility.
*HOPEfully Yours Volunteer
Volunteers at HOPEfully Yours help sort and tag items, as well as stock and assist customers. Resale shop volunteers start by volunteering in the HOPE clothing closet until a resale shop volunteer position is available.
*Special Projects Volunteer
Needed for projects throughout the year such as the spring post office food drive and during the busy holiday season.
Will I receive training?
New volunteers will receive training for the specific area in which they are assigned. Annual training is also held each year for all current volunteers.
What should I wear?
Tennis shoes or good comfortable shoes (no open toe shoes allowed)
Nice comfortable clothing. No revealing or offensive clothing allowed.
